"Unconsciously, it has been 40 years since I entered the automotive filter industry.”Starting in Taiwan, settling in Dongguan, and developing in Bengbu, Wu Jieshu's life trajectory seems to be rich, but it always revolves around the track.With the rapid development of China's automobile industry, Wu Jieshu has become more and more sure of his choice.

In the 1970s and 1980s, during the golden age of Taiwan's economic development, Wu Jieshu, who was first out of the ivory tower, entered an import and export trading company to work. Because of his frequent in-depth first-line markets, he keenly smelled the business opportunities in the filter market, and resolutely decided to cut into industrial production from the trade field.In 1981, Wu Jieshu registered the “Phoenix” brand in Taiwan and started a long entrepreneurial career.

“In fact, in the early days of our business, we mainly made filters on dry cleaners, and it was also a coincidence that we entered the automotive filter market.I remember that a well-known automobile manufacturer in Japan came to the factory to inspect and felt that our products were of good quality, and wanted to hand over the automobile filters to us for production.At that time, the scale of the global automotive industry was gradually increasing, and the demand for filters was strong, and there was no well-known filter company in Taiwan. I thought this was an opportunity, so I started to focus on automotive filters."Wu Jieshu told a Securities Times reporter

Entering the 1990s, the pace of China's reform and opening-up has accelerated, and economic and trade exchanges between the two sides of the Strait have gradually become frequent. A wave of investment by Taiwanese businessmen in the mainland has quietly struck. It was at this time that Wu Jieshu came to Dongguan and invested in the construction of the mainland's first Taiwan-funded filter factory.Based on the previous foreign trade experience and market foundation in Taiwan, Wu Jieshu's business in Dongguan has gone smoothly, and it has also formed the prototype of Anhui Phoenix International Business.“I'm glad I came to the mainland and chose the right investment direction."Wu Jieshu admitted.

However, with the industrial upgrading of coastal areas and the mass migration of traditional manufacturing industries to inland areas with lower land and labor costs, Wujieshu began to look for a new strategic base, and quickly focused on one of the filter industry bases-Bengbu, Anhui.In 2006, the “Phoenix” brand officially settled in Bengbu, and Anhui Phoenix was founded.“Because the filters we do are complicated and mainly export-oriented, we have high requirements for land storage area and professional talents."Wu Jieshu said that there are several main considerations for relocating to Bengbu. In addition to enjoying relevant land and tax incentives as a local investment attraction project, the most important reason is that Bengbu has gathered a large number of domestic filter R&D and production talents.As early as the 1950s, Bengbu gave birth to China's first automotive filter company, Bengbu Tractor Accessories Factory, which gave birth to a large number of automotive filter talents, which can be called the “Whampoa Military Academy” in the filter industry. Wu Jieshu's partner Chen Dengyu worked here in his early years and is currently the vice chairman and technical leader of Anhui Phoenix.

After settling in Bengbu, with the blessing of resources and talents in both directions, Anhui Phoenix has continued to grow in scale.At present, the company has three major production plants, Huangshan Avenue, Xingzhong Road, and Huaiyuan Industrial Park, with nearly a thousand employees.In the past three years, the company's performance has grown steadily, and its revenue in 2020 broke the 300 million yuan mark for the first time; it recorded a net profit of 0.47 billion yuan, almost double that of 2017.
